Entrenched in massive wall of sound Kasan combine deeply emotional parts with erruptive moments of industrial freak-out and monotonous metal and doom influenced riffing. The complex song writing builds on story telling and progressing instead of repetition.

The band's name is taken from the japanese word for vulcano.

After a self-released demo in 2007, one self released Ep called 'Soma' in 2009, an 10" Split-Vinyl with Kokomo released in 2010 via Maniyax-records and an 10" Split-Vinyl with swedish band Galvano released in 2011 via SM-Musik, Kasan recorded their first full length album in 2012. It got released through Dunk! Records on vinyl and CD the same year and on vinyl repress for the euro tour in 2016. In 2013 Kasan recorded the Song Dust Devil as part of the first Dunk! Records label sampler.

Between 2010 and 2013 the band collaborated with Leipzig based live visual crew hasirehei for live concerts.

In 2011 Kasan recorded a fusion project with german psych-punk outfit BurnPilot. This collaboration is named Arches. Unfortunately the recordings have never been processed by the sound engineer and most likely will never be released.

This whole album is a favorite. This is so good I had to order the wax from Dunk! Records and while I was at it I also ordered the album If Wolves. Can't wait to spin the wax. These guys are a must listen if you are a fan of instrumental and post rock. Frederick Jones
